Nottingham Law School - Distance Learning Courses
Nottingham Law School runs two highly successful distance learning programmes, the LLB (Hons) and Graduate Diploma in Law (CPE). Both programmes have been designed to allow students to continue working or fulfil other commitments while they study.
LLB (Hons) - This four or five-year degree will provide you with a sound theoretical grounding in law. This degree will give you the basis for progression onto further professional qualifications.
Graduate Diploma in Law (CPE) - This is a two-year conversion course for anyone with a first degree in a discipline other than law. You will have the opportunity to progress to professional examinations or use the qualification to enhance your career in other areas.
The courses are taught by distance learning and include attendance at four residential weekends each year in Nottingham which will provide intensive face to face tuition. You will also be assigned to a subject tutor who will provide ongoing support by phone, fax, email and direct contact.
These courses are particularly appropriate for those of you working at all levels of the Police Service. We have a number of serving Police Officers on both courses who find that the teaching weekends and study pattern fit in well with work demands.
A Police Officer said recently: 'This course is ideal, the materials are second to none and the teaching and support is first class'.
Both courses are recognised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Bar Council and are designed for anyone who would like to go on to become a solicitor or barrister.
Nottingham Law School also offers the following postgraduate courses: the Legal Practice Course (for intending solicitors), the Bar Vocational Course (for intending barristers) a number of flexible Masters courses and continuing professional development for practising lawyers.
