The International Association of Women Police is proud to announce the appointment of Julia Jaeger, as its new President.
Julia is a distinguished figure in international policing and brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to advancing the role of women in policing globally.
Julia has been an integral part of the IAWP for the last 20 years after joining in 2004 as an officer in the Metropolitan Police for London, UK and having spent a year working in Bosnia for the United Nations.
Julia has served the IAWP in various capacities including regional co-ordinator for Europe, Recording Secretary, First Vice President and now President.
Her appointment as President marks a significant milestone for the Association as it moves into a new phase in its advocacy for the empowerment and professional development of women in law enforcement.
Julia explains; “This is an incredibly proud moment for me as the IAWP has played such a significant role in my life and I hope I have played a significant role in return.
“I am honoured to take on the role of President of the IAWP and I look forward to working with our members on challenges women in policing face every day.
“I’ve always been incredibly passionate about the work of the IAWP as I have seen first-hand the impact it can have on policing on a global scale.
“The coming years mark an important phase of progression for the IAWP as we look ahead to our next conference which will be held in Abu Dhabi, UAE in 2025 and will bring together 3000 women in policing.
‘This is the biggest event in the world for women in policing and I’m excited for the opportunities it will bring to those women and women in policing globally.
“We continue with our mission to strengthen, unite and raise the capacity of women in policing internationally. So much has been achieved but for many, there is still so much for us to do. We have members from around seventy countries across the world but I’m conscious those who need us most are likely to be in areas we are yet to reach. This will become a focus for the IAWP whilst still providing a dynamic professional network for our existing membership.”
