Capita to deliver its emergency services dispatch solution to Tasmania

Capita Communication and Control Solutions has partnered with Fujitsu Australia to deliver a unified Emergency Services Computer Aided Dispatch (ESCAD) system to the Tasmanian Department of Police, Fire and Emergency Management.

Capita’s VISION Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) solution will be installed in place of the separate legacy solutions that are being used by Tasmania’s police, fire and ambulance services. It will also be employed by the state emergency service, which currently uses a manual pager-based process to allocate volunteers to tasks.

The ESCAD system will be used to better coordinate critical responses between Tasmania’s emergency services and will be the first unified emergency dispatch system to be used in the state.

VISION is already being used by emergency services in other parts of Australia, including New South Wales, Queensland and The Australian Capital Territory.

Alan Hall, international sales manager, Capita Secure Software and Technology, said: “We are delighted to be working with our long-term partner Fujitsu to deliver the first unified emergency dispatch system in Tasmania.

“Australia is a very important and growing market for us and we look forward to utilising the expertise we have developed through our work with clients in other parts of the country to deliver more integrated and coordinated emergency services in Tasmania.”
