Police professionals have been welcomed into an exclusive club that will enable them to save hundreds of pounds annually as well as take part in ‘extraordinary’ experiences.
CSMA Club, an organisation which provides savings and benefits to over 280,000 current and ex-civil service members has extended eligibility to police force employees, enabling them to make everyday savings, access discounted travel and participate in a range of exclusive events and activities.
The organisation has also introduced a new focus on arranging ‘extraordinary experiences’ for its members, a theme it formally launched at an event held at the Bristol headquarters of Bloodhound SSC - the UK project attempting to break the land-speed record - for which the CSMA Club is a key sponsor.
The decision to include the police force reflects its similarity to other civil service entities, and is in response to reduced employee benefits and uncertain professional affiliations caused by the ongoing privatisation of public bodies.
James Robertson, head of marketing for CSMA Club, said: “Despite the thawing of the freeze on police pay announced earlier this year, police officers in the earlier stages of their careers are worse off now in real terms than they were three years ago.
“We are very pleased to be able to extend our membership to police professionals, which we hope will allow them not only to make everyday savings which ease the financial burden, but also take advantage of our travel discounts and organised events which mean they can spend quality time with friends and family.”
Discussing the CSMA Club’s sponsorship of the Bloodhound project, James said: “CSMA Club began life as a motoring association, so we were keen to be a part of this amazing feat and support the next generation of engineers.
“As a fascinating UK engineering project, Bloodhound SSC’s headquarters in Bristol is the perfect place to launch our new approach towards providing extraordinary money-can’t-buy experiences for our members. The relationships we hold with major destinations and events in the UK means we can give our members exclusive access to amazing places and events.”
The membership fee is just £19 and allows members to tap into a host of benefits and offers. To find out more go to www.csmaclub.co.uk/police.
