Charity football tournament nets £1k

Essex Police took some time away from the beat and took their skills to the pitch for the annual Arron Williams Trust Fund football tournament.
The event was held at the Essex Police sports ground in Springfield, Chelmsford and organisers this year made it into a family fun-day so police staff and their families could have fun raising money.
The tournament, now in its third year, was set up in 2007 to raise money for Pitsea Pc Arron Williams, who was left paralysed after a rugby accident. Arron's determination has seen him recover enough to be back working for Essex Police at an office in Basildon, where he now works as part of the Crime Management Team in Basildon police station in a quality assurance role.
Another change this year was that the money raised is to be split in varying denominations between the Arron Williams Trust Fund, Child Victims of Crime (CVOC), and the St John's Ambulance.
Pc Arron Williams is overwhelmed with his
colleagues continued support. He said:"I would like to say a massive thank you to the organisers Colin Ellis and Gary Barrett for organising such a great family day out.
"Everyone had a brilliant time and I am
pleased that this year the money is going to more worthy causes. I must also say big thank you to everyone that came along to help support the day and who continue to support me."
