Police posts put officers at the heart of Communities

Residents in Hindley and Ashton are being encouraged to make use of two police posts in the towns.
Both posts are in well-used, accessible locations alongside other local services, and are part of a drive to further improve the way police serve
communities.
The facilities, both of which have disabled access, can be used by people to report crimes, provide information to the police, raise concerns or ask for advice.
The first is at Hindley town hall on Cross Street and is open 1pm to 4.30pm
Monday to Friday. It is closed on weekends and Bank Holidays.
Officers from the Hindley Neighbourhood Policing Team will run surgeries at the venue on the first Wednesday of each month from 2pm to 4pm, and anyone
wishing to visit should turn right inside the main town hall entrance and
enter the first door on the right.

The second police post is located inside Ashton library on Wigan Road and
is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9.30am to 5.30pm and
Saturday from 9.00am to 12.30pm. The facility is closed on Thursdays,
Sundays and Bank Holidays.
Surgeries will be run at the venue on the third Tuesday of each month from
6pm to 8pm, and anyone requiring further information should call 01942

Inspector Anne Scott of the Hindley Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "I am
really pleased that we are able to offer these facilities to local people.
They are in easily accessible locations that put us right at the heart of the community and will help us to provide a more effective service."

Police across Wigan borough are now working towards delivering the Policing
