The BAPCO 2009 Conference and Exhibition is fast approaching and promises to be the central debating and learning event of the year taking place from 21st - 23rd April 2009 at the Business Design Centre, Islington, London.

Conference Highlights: 21st - 23rd April 2009
Free sessions included in both one and two day packages on Tuesday 21st April discuss updates on Project CHORIST (an EU funded research project addressing Environmental Risk Management), Project SECRICOM (a collaborative EU research project aimed at developing a reference security platform for EU crisis management) and Project COPE (Common Operational Picture Exploitation)
Sam Sharps, Director, Digital Britain Report at the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform will be giving the opening address on Wednesday 22nd April discussing the Government's future 'converged' approach to the communications and technology sectors outlined in the Digital Britain Report.
Jeanette Innes, Assistant Director from the Civil Contingencies Secretariat follows the opening address with a focus on the work being undertaken by the Resilient Telecommunications Programme.
On Thursday 23rd April sessions open with a presentation from Mike Short, Vice President Head of Research and Development at O2 discussing the need for ensuring the emergency services systems are as well equipped as those available to the general public.
Richard Bryan, OSD Project Director, Deputy Assistant Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Service will close the conference on 23rd April with an outline of the planning process and strategy designed to ensure that the London Olympic Games in 2012 take place without major incident.
