South Yorkshire Police has exciting opportunities for constables, sergeants and inspectors in a number of roles including detectives, safeguarding, fi rearms, neighbourhood policing and response.

To support our resurgence, and provide the public with the service they desire, we need to attract the very best candidates to support our existing offi cers and staff.
As a full-spectrum force, SYP offers a broader range of roles and fulfi lment than might be available in other forces. The geography of South Yorkshire is also incredibly diverse, covering the city of Sheffi eld and neighbouring towns of Rotherham, Doncaster and Barnsley. In a few short miles, you can go from rugged and breathtaking countryside to vibrant urban areas, offering some of the UK’s best shopping, family attractions and nightlife.
SYP offers relocation and removal expenses up to a maximum of £8,000, to transferring offi cers currently living outside of the force area and at least 50 miles from their permanent place of work. In addition, successful transferees and re-joiners will receive a non-consolidated payment of £2,000.

South Yorkshire Police welcomes applications from transferee offi cers who are currently serving with a Home Offi ce police force and re-joiners who have previously served with a Home Offi ce police force. Detective constables must be PIP 2 accredited with experience in public protection, proactive crime and reactive crime.
