Foster for Aberlour in Scotland

Right now, more than 14,000 children in Scotland are in desperate need of a safe, loving home.

Aberlour Fostering is looking for new foster carers across the country to provide these much needed safe, nurturing and loving homes for children who are unable to live with their parents.

At Aberlour Fostering we’ve been supporting fostering families for over 20 years. We understand just how important families are, as we’re just like a family ourselves.

Aberlour Foster Carer Jacqui said: “We’ve been fostering with Aberlour Fostering for a long time. We’re like one big family. They’ve supported us through the highs and lows. Seeing my children flourishing from when they first arrived at my home to where they are now reminds me of why I do the job.”

We’re looking for people from all walks for life. We need foster carers from a variety of backgrounds and with different life experiences, skills and qualities to meet the needs of the children desperately needing a loving home.

We also support our carers to keep working as we know how important your career can be to who you are as a person.

We need people like you! People who are compassionate and dedicated to protecting and serving their community.

All we need is for you:
to be at least 21 years-old.
to have a spare bedroom big enough for a child to make their own.
to be a non-smoker.
most importantly, to be dedicated and want to care for a child who has experienced trauma to have a brighter future.

The difference a foster carer can make can be life changing for a child. Natasha, Aberlour Fostering’s first ever fostered child, said: “I can’t imagine what my life would be like without my parents. To know someone is there for you is like a suit of armour. Most people take it for granted but I never did and I never will. I used to wonder what might have happened if I hadn’t found my family? Where would I be? Who would I be? But I know who I am now and who my family is.”

When you join our family you will receive:
24/7 support from an experienced and dedicated team who knows you and your family.

• Extensive training and access to support groups.
• Our Family Worker will also support your birth children as it is important for them to have their own worker to talk to and spend time with.
• Short breaks tailored to your family’s needs.
• Generous fees up to £27,962.65 per year, maintenance allowance up to £10,209.05 and set-up allowance up to £500.
