What do I need?

  • It is essential that you have completed or are about to undertake formal Analyst training from the list below:

National Intelligence Analysis Training (NIAT), now replaced by Introduction to Research & Introduction to Analysis.

Government Intelligence Analysis Training (GIAT), now replaced by PHIA’s New Analyst Programme (NAP).

Defence Intelligence Analysis Training (DIAT).

Level 4 Intelligence Analysis Apprenticeship, or equivalent training delivered by a recognised Organisation.

Entry Level 10-Day CPD Accredited Intelligence Analysis course (RISC)

  • Intelligence Professionalisation Programme (IPP) Intelligence Analyst accreditation is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional report-writing skills.
  • Effective organization and prioritization.
  • Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
  • Confident presentation skills.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Proven coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Problem-solving and proactive mindset.
  • Proficiency in IT tools.
  • Legal awareness is a plus.
